Here in India I've been involved with evolving consensus data on the IBS screen under India Society of Gastroenterology. In addition I have been involved wth various drug trials on ulcer disease, IBS, Probiotics etc.

In England I was actively involved in research work and my attachments at the West Middlesex University Hospital in London and the DGH n Rotherham, Sheffield were places where I gained my expertise.

My extra curricular activities include playing golf, painting in oils, music, english literature and travel.

I am senior Consultant Gastroenterologist of Kolkata and am the Head of Gastroenterology at Woodlands Medical Centre Ltd.

In addition I have my personal Gastro Clinic where U can perform all complicated GI endoscopic / therapeutic procedures including ERCPs, stone removal, stent insertions etc.

I am the Vice President of the Liver Foundation West Bengal which is an NGO that has the Nobel Laureate Prof. Amartya Sen as its Chief patron. We work actively in rural areas promoting rural health and spreading awarenes regarding liver diseases.

We also conduct international meetings with world leaders in hepatology and the most recent one was held on 6th of December 2008.
